Today people around the world are raising their voices in support of the Millennium Development Goals, the world’s to-do list to alleviate poverty and suffering. Every step we take to achieve the MDGs - from getting more children in school to combating diseases - gives more people the opportunity to improve their lives.
There are only 500 days left until the target date for the MDGs, and we need your voice to help keep the MDGs front and center on the global agenda.
Tweet this message to show world leaders and your social networks that the MDGs matter.
Throughout the day, advocates, experts, and people who care about ending poverty will talk about the progress we have made and what we can do to keep the momentum going. This includes a special event at 11am ET with the United Nations Secretary-General and teenage education advocate Malala Yousafzai. You can find the complete schedule for the day at mdg500.org/schedule.
We hope you will add your voice, and join us in supporting the MDGs. Together, we can pave the path for an end to poverty.
Thanks for all you do,
Vice President for UN Relations
